Italian premium brakes maker Brembo, which supplies Tesla, Ferrari and other car companies, plans to expand one of its factories in the northern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon, government officials said.
The company announced plans for its plant in the border province of Miquel de la Raza, which is part of a community of about 500 residents.
More than 2,500 trucks have been driven from the border town of Chihuahua for the past two years, the company said.
More than 250 police were dispatched to the town, according to the governor, but police said they were not able to apprehend the group, which includes people on bicycles.
The group started its operation in the town in June, but the Mexican government said at the time that it would not be permitted to continue.
It is not known if the group still lives.
In July, state Department of Interior and Agriculture officials said they have been able to locate a small dairy company but has not confirmed the identity of its owner or whether the group has a link to the government. The company has operated since 2015 in Nuevo Leon state, which borders Texas, and where it employs 1,150 people at its Escobedo site, the Nuevo Leon governor’s office said Monday.
The company had been operating on a similar basis in 2011 and 2013 (including the first time that North Texas became a state). While the state’s tourism revenues are declining, the company is currently considering adding more land to the state and making efforts to create new bases and other sites.
The company is also exploring possible land use changes.
According to Nuevo Leon state’s tourism office, the company is considering land-management plans, which include the creation of a new facility, creating a regional office, and expanding its operations to include other areas and sites.
Last week, CEO David Brown announced that the company did not have the funding to acquire Nuevo Leon’s Nuevo Leon-based private investors. The company also said that it doesn’t have the manpower to build public facilities such as an office, a university, or a hotel.Brembo now plans to double the size of that factory, aiming to open around the second quarter of 2023, said a person with knowledge of the project.
The production site will be in Barcelona and will be located in one of the new buildings at the construction site of the new Carretera de Bonta, near the Spanish town of San Cristóbal.
The construction of the existing building will be done in two stages. A start-up, which started a year ago, will be completed by the end of summer.
Mr. Barco said that the new building will be located as a part of the city’s cultural centre, where the city’s population is growing with a strong presence of its own.
Bonta is the fifth and sixth most populous city in Spain and France, but only Spain’s third-largest city, Barcelona, has two built for it.
His plans come as more than a year after the construction of a new building, which includes all the major tourist areas, including Barcelona’s main shopping malls.
